Everything you missed from our Flow Leadership retreat in Yucatan!
Our recent Flow Leadership Retreat in Mexico was a massive success. It was a step away from the flow of status quo towards the flow of the future. Professional retreats are an invaluable opportunity for professional growth, collaboration, and reflection. It can feel so unnatural to step away from work to focus on what makes the work actually work - yet that’s exactly what we do when we lead and engineer flow improvement. The villa where we stayed provided a perfect environment for both productive work and relaxation. Situated in a stunning, remote, oceanfront location, it offered an inspiring atmosphere that was free from the usual distractions of everyday life.
We were extremely fortunate to attract a diverse and comprehensive cohort of professionals: entrepreneurs, consultants, authors, architects, coaches - at every stage of experience.
One of the wonderful things about a flow retreat is that you have more license (and duty) to go where value leads you. We followed that spirit but also learned a few things along the way. Once again, the Flow Engineering game proved invaluable as a warm up and a signpost. We went upstream, downstream, across dependencies and silos, high level and into the details. I planned for screen-shared deep dive experience reports, but we all opted for post-its barely hanging on in the breeze. Organic, fluid, perfect.
Throughout the retreat, we had the chance to exchange experiences in leadership, common challenges, and performance optimization, with a specific focus on how we can better integrate flow engineering into our respective contexts to drive greater impact. These conversations helped reinforce our shared goals and deepen our collective understanding of how flow engineering can be applied to overcome challenges and unlock potential in various organizational contexts.
I feel incredibly grateful for our first cohort taking a chance on this new venture with us, and contributing to the success of this retreat. Your insights, collaboration, and enthusiasm made this event truly impactful. We are already in the process of planning the next retreat and look forward to another opportunity to continue our work together.

Thanks, Steve, for putting together such an amazing retreat. It was the perfect space to step back, reflect, and learn from others in the industry. I came away with new and improved ideas, and a better way to think about how work actually flows. Grateful for the chance to keep learning and practicing with such a great group of people.
